Our precious Caleb at one week

I look like my Daddy did!!

Such a good big brother!!!

Being a mom is like nothing I ever expected. So much harder than I expected, but it has the most irreplaceable joy I've ever known. It builds your character and makes you aware of how patient you really are. And until you become a parent can you fully realize and understand Gods abundance of love for us. I always thought I knew how big that love was and how far it can go, but I really had no clue.

Noah is the brightest kid I've ever met ( granted I'm slightly bias, but.....). His vocabulary and understanding of his surroundings is surprising and slightly daunting. I want to do right by him and stimulate his mind and push him to do more without putting too much on him at the same time. I'm also afraid that I won't be able to keep up. But his smile and love and sweetness are the greatest things about him.

Caleb is our big man. My big eater, big smiler, and has an amazing set of pipes. Babies are interesting because you think you know them and in a month or so they can completely change on you. But we do feel as though we have a greater understanding of his needs which makes things easier. His laugh is contagious and his Daddy is his favorite toy.

Life is a balance and sometimes I loose balance, but God is my strength and fortress. My days can go from calm and happy to stressed and crabby. I'm thankful that He is my one constant. I rejoice for my loving husband and help mate. He knows my breaking point and always helps me back on track. I'm so thankful for ALL the men in my life.

  1. Dear Katy:

You can now see how precious you are to me and Mom now that you have children of your own. You really make our lives fulfilling. I love you so much.
